This time, numerous voice actors have expressed their dissatisfaction over the use of their voices in Skyrim NSFW mods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this week, Twitter user <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Robbie92_\/status\/1674944276109688833\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Robbie92_<\/a> posted an image featuring a list of voice actors whose voices had been dumped into AI-voice generator machines. The user argued the modding community has been abusing voice actors by creating and distributing non-consensual deepfake pornographic content via AI-voice cloning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As expected, the voice actors are not taking this well. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BenjaminDiskin\/status\/1676306925515051009\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Benjamin Diskin<\/a>, who played several characters in Elder Scrolls Online, commented he did not consent to his biometric data being used for these purposes and asked to be informed if his voice was used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Excellent commentary by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VoicesByZane?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@VoicesByZane<\/a>. People act like they have an inherent right to clone performers&#39; voices, and when they&#39;re told they don&#39;t, they get angry\/defensive.They blame the voice actors for speaking out instead of themselves for using someone&#39;s voice without consent. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sBvGdp0B74\">pic.twitter.com\/sBvGdp0B74<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Robbie (@Robbie92_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Robbie92_\/status\/1676911632403038209?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 6, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This is WRONG on every level!&#8221; said <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RyRyLaughton\/status\/1676512977095127040\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Ryan Laughton<\/a>, who has worked on <a href=\"https:\/\/twinfinite.net\/reviews\/diablo-iv-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Diablo 4<\/a> and Hitman 2. &#8220;It\u2019s disturbing. WTF is wrong with people, AI voice cloning is out of hand. Do not support the AI replication of VA\u2019s voices in any way shape or form. Please let me know if you ever encounter my voice being used like this. I do not give consent.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Association of Voice Actors (NAVA) also <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NAVAVOICES\/status\/1676624272629039104\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">commented<\/a> on the issue, &#8220;The damage to voice actors and game companies by AI and synthetic voices is real and tangible.&#8221; The organization also tagged Bethesda and Zenimax Online, requesting their active support for the voice actors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, the current official stance of Nexus Mods allows AI-generated mod content to exist on the website.
